Positive Power : Efficient design
Designed to be a highly efficient family car, New Citroën C4 uses the latest Citroën technology to reduce its environmental impact. The lightweight construction of the car - in spite of its increased dimensions and added equipment - has been achieved using innovative techniques, such as laser welding, and relentless focus on the weight optimisation of all components.
Not only is the car highly efficient but Citroën have also striven to minimise its production’s environmental footprint. 15% of the car’s polyamide components are therefore made using ‘green’ materials - re-cycled plastics, natural materials (plant fibres, wood) and bio-materials (polyamides stemming from renewable sources). New Citroën C4 will also be produced at the Mulhouse PSA Peugeot Citroën plant in France, a factory that boasts excellent environmental credentials. In 30 years, it has reduced its water consumption per vehicle by a factor of 14, and currently re-uses 99.5% of the material waste it generates.
